Tuning, Regulation. Repairs, Cleaning, Policy

Tuning

Tuning: For those pianos that needs to be adjusted to the proper pitch for better tone quality between the temperaments, octaves, and unisons. New Pianos recommended tunings for the first year are four tunings, then at least one or two tunings thereafter. Tunings at every six months are recommended. I will Guarantee the tuning for Two months after the date of the tuning.

Tuning. . . . . . $90.00 Tuning within the Standard Pitch to A440 ($150.00 if a regular tuning is completed in excess of three hours pending on the age of piano and the stability quality)  Also includes a 30 day follow up tuning at no additional charge to ensure tuning stability.

Pitch Raise........$35.00   For those Pianos that are severely out of tune that needs to be pulled to pitch before fine tuning is performed due to the fact that the piano has not been tuned in years, major temperature and humidity changes that effects the action and casing of the piano (Soundboard, Bridges, Tuning Pinblocks, and Action Parts facing expansion and contraction of the piano components). The pitch raise charges is in addition to the regular tuning charges

Student/Group Discounts For Tuning...................$75.00

Student/Group Discounts For Pitch Raises...........$25.00

Concert/Recital Tuning. . . .$150.00   For Those pianos are used for concert and recitals in preparation, this service includes the pitch correction and three to five other tunings to follow (two to three hour process.)



Three Tuning Process (Required for old pianos have not been tuned for extended time. ). . . .$200.00  For those pianos that have not been tuned for years that are severely flat and the unisons are totally wild requiring several tunings within the three visits within a two month period to ensure the tuning stability, the third visit is no charge.

 

  Regulation

Regulation: The proper operation of any piano action depends on a specific ratio of key travel to hammer travel. Proper adjustments are performed in order to have all action parts function within the certain timing and eveness. All regulation work I will guarantee for two years from the date of completion of the job plus Two tunings included.

Regulation. . . $700.00  Includes repairs and overhaul to the action and adjustments so the piano will function properly and at a comfortable playing level for the Pianist.

Semi-Regulation. . . .$350.00  For those who could only afford a rough regulation to get the piano in a satisfactory playing level and/or on some pianos that are not played frequently.


Tone Regulation: For those Pianos that have unevenness of the tone quality of each note, bringing it to the better sound quality with the evenness of the tonal quality.

Voicing. . . .$75.00  Per hour plus tuning (Add $90) Working with the hammers to improve the tonal quality and power. Tuning of the piano required before any voicing is made.

Hammer Filing. . . . $100.00   for those pianos that have deeply grooved hammers giving off a rather poor sound quality to restore the flatness of the hammer heads so the hammers can strike the strings evenly. 

 

 

Repairs

Piano Repairs. . . .$55.00  Per Hour plus parts (If Needed), 

Piano Repairs For Student Discounts.........................$35.00 per Hour

Action...loose, sluggish, missing, or broken parts.

Broken Keys...keystick broken, loose or missing key top.

Strings...Broken or missing.

Bass Strings...Will need to record dimensions to order new one.

For spinet owners There will be an additional fee of $100.00 for any work requiring the action removal from piano to perform the job due to having to remove all 88 connecting rods from keys to the action, making sure they are all secured before removing action from piano and replacing them back onto the keys once job is completed whereas the larger upright and grand pianos do not have connecting rods inside the action and therefore do not require more time to remove those action. I will check all the binding screws, loose hammers, foreign objects, etc. included with the action removal fee.



Cleaning    

Cleaning. . . . . $250.00 Cleaning and Vacuuming out the interior of the piano, soundboard, underplate, removing the piano action to clean out each of components from the dust buildup/foreign objects/etc. Inspection of the action parts for missing or damaged parts, then consultation may apply.


Inspection

Inspection and Estimates: For those pianos wished to be looked into for Repairs, Rebuilding, Buying, and/or Selling

Basic Inspection/Estimate for tunings, small repairs and regulation.......No charge

Full Written Inspection/Estimate Report.......$350.00 (Waived to $100.00 if work was requested, free if work exceeds $300.00) Including the visitation to the piano owner's house to look at the piano, rough draft, photos of the piano, pricing for new parts, consultations over the piano and a full written report.
